MANILA, Philippines – PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa has downgraded the ban and the fines imposed on fiery Talk ‘N Text import Ivan Johnson following a meeting that saw the two parties clear the air, the league announced.

Johnson was initially handed a lifetime ban and fined P250,000 after cursing at Narvasa following his ejection from TNT’s game against Meralco last Saturday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Narvasa announced on Wednesday that Johnson has instead been given a season-long suspension, and his fine has been reduced to P150,000.

Johnson, who led Talk ‘N Text to the Commissioner’s Cup title last year, personally went to the PBA office on Tuesday to apologize to Narvasa, which the commissioner accepted.

The import is set to leave the country on Saturday, according to TNT manager Virgil Villavicencio.
