MANILA – Teen actress Janella Salvador has started working on the newest installment of the “Mano Po” film franchise with former onscreen partner Marlo Mortel, nine days before the conclusion of her primetime series “Born For You.”
Salvador, in photos shared by her talent manager on Instagram, was seen shooting scenes for “Mano Po 7” with Mortel and actor-singer Kean Cipriano inside the Diliman campus of the University of the Philippines.
According to a report from Pep, Salvador will portray Carol, the second child of the lead character of “Be Careful With My Heart” star Richard Yap. Mortel, meanwhile, will portray a college music student and the love interest of Carol.
This will be their second film together following “Haunted Mansion,” which was one of the entries to last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The two also worked on the morning series, “Oh My G!”
Salvador is currently being paired with Elmo Magalona, the son of the late rap icon Francis Magalona, in “Born For You.”
According to both Yap and Salvador, some scenes of the seventh installment of Regal Entertainment’s “Mano Po” will be filmed in China. Yap hopes that the film will become a way for locals to better understand Chinese-Filipinos.
