Man pleads no contest in Fil-Am teen's attack

CALIFORNIA – The suspect arrested over a year ago for allegedly attacking a 17-year-old Filipino-American in a San Jose mall parking lot and putting him in coma has pleaded no contest.

According to the Santa Clara County Office of the District Attorney, Truong Son Win pleaded no contest to battery, causing serious bodily injury, which is a felony.

According to authorities, Win was the one who struck Christian Rasner, causing him to fall to the ground and severely hit his head.

Win is scheduled back in court on July 15 for sentencing.

After multiple surgeries and hours of physical therapy, Rasner has fully recovered.
