NCAA suspends Thursday's games in Recto due to Gorio

MANILA — With Tropical Storm Gorio bringing non-stop rain to Metro Manila, the NCAA has decided not to push through with its games scheduled on Thursday.

“Due to bad weather and suspension of classes, games today, July 27, are cancelled,” league chairman Fr. Glynn Ortega, OAR said in a statement to reporters.

San Sebastian College-Recoletos was set to host visiting Jose Rizal University in the former’s campus in Recto, Manila.

According to PAGASA, Tropical Storm Gorio is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall. Also, it may intensify into a “severe tropical storm” within the next 24 to 36 hours.

As such, most cities have already declared suspension of classes.

The city of Manila, where San Sebastian is located, declared suspension of classes early in the morning.
