MANILA – Star Hotshots coach Chito Victolero has reasons to be wary of the NLEX Road Warriors ahead of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup game on Friday.

For one, the Road Warriors have yet to win a game this conference, and this makes them a hungry team. Moreover, they have Yeng Guiao as coach.

“NLEX is a dangerous team,” Victolero told FOX Sports Asia. “We know hindi ‘yan papatalo basta-basta. They’re always ready because they have a great coach.”

The Hotshots are looking for win number three and a share of second place with the Alaska Aces. In their most recent game, they demolished GlobalPort, 103-77.

The Road Warriors, on the other hand, remain winless in three outings. This is why they secured the services of veteran bigman Rabeh Al-Hussaini.

“Makakatulong ‘yun sa kanila,” said Victolero of the former PBA Rookie of the Year. “Kaya kailangan naming paghandaan ng mabuti pati na rin ‘yung ibang locals nila.”

Star will clash against NLEX at the Araneta Coliseum at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Blackwater is also gunning for its first win when it clashes with TNT at 4:15 p.m.

The Elite are at the bottom of the standings with NLEX with three defeats in three starts.

They will battle a dangerous KaTropa squad who already has Jayson Castro back in the team.

Castro came back from a hamstring injury to help orchestrate TNT’s 134-109 beatdown of Phoenix.
