MANILA, Philippines — A red-hot Generika-Ayala squad looks to stretch its winning streak when it takes on skidding Cocolife in the 2018 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Bacoor Strike Gym.

Game time is at 7 p.m., with the Lifesavers eyeing a sixth straight triumph in the league's season-ending conference.

Meanwhile, Foton will try to bounce back from a sorry loss to Petron when it clashes with Smart at 4:15 p.m. F2 Logistics and Cignal open the day's slate of games at 2 p.m.

Generika-Ayala opened the conference with three straight losses, but has since won five consecutive matches, including a four-set conquest of F2 Logistics two weeks ago. In their previous match against Cignal, the Lifesavers pulled off a 25-21, 27-25, 22-25, 25-16 triumph behind Patty Orendain, Ria Meneses and Fiola Ceballos.

Orendain scored 17 of her 18 points on kills, while Meneses and Ceballos registered 16 and 15 markers, respectively, as Generika-Ayala improved to 5-3.

"I think our team has gained enough confidence," said Generika-Ayala assistant coach Parley Tupaz. "But still, I hope that we won't get ahead of ourselves, and step-by-step, we improve our game."

Though they have plenty of momentum, Tupaz remains wary of the young Asset Managers, who are being bannered by Fil-Am spiker Kalei Mau and national team libero Denden Lazaro.

Cocolife has won just once in eight games but is still capable of pulling off an upset.

"You can never underestimate Cocolife," said Tupaz, who is calling the shots in lieu of head coach Sherwin Meneses. "They're that kind of dangerous team, because they're hungry to get a win, and we have to be careful not to be their victim."

"Although we have a five-game winning streak, we have to remain hungry and always keep our guards up."
